Black Annis ritual for the outcast, the queer, the judged...
Pilloried as a hag, a child-eater, unnatural, ugly, vicious, Black Annis is Outcast - found in marginal places, in the tales from Gloucestershire and Shropshire alongside their blue-faced counterpart in Leicestershire.Keeping themselves apart from humanity, they are the scapegoat for the imbalances, dissatisfactions and dissensions of local communities.
In this ritual we will call the Outcast – the spirit of Black Annis to be with us – and we will release the judgements of others (including those we may have internalised) to allow full transformation and acceptance to occur. The ritual involves a chant which can be used as an ongoing practise for working with the Outsider being – Black Annis.
Please note that this ritual could be upsetting for some – as we will revisit external misunderstandings and past judgements and rejections that may have created heartbreak, damaged our self-esteem or be holding us back. Please make sure you are able to do this.
