Accessibility at the festival
We aim to make all Queer Spirit events as accessible as possible. We have a new team dedicated to improving access at the festival as much as we can, and we would love to hear from you about what you would like to see. Please read through the following information before contacting us.
The site is flat grassland. Please note that it is a large space. The grass will be kept as short as possible to make wheelchair use as easy as possible. However, please note that in the case of wet weather, the grass may get muddy. There will be quiet spaces available for those who need a sensory break. The welfare tent and the chill-out tent are good places for this. There is also a beautiful pond on site that is a quiet area. Please note that in the evenings there will be amplified music until midnight, so please bring earplugs if needed. There will be two dedicated accessible camping areas both with accessible toilet facilities. The lower accessible camping area is close to the production office where electricity for charging mobility aids will be available. It is also close to the welfare tent where volunteers can provide emotional and practical support (e.g. help putting up tents). Hot water will also be available in the welfare tent. This is a quiet camping area. There are accessible toilets and showers close to this camping area. If you wish to camp in the lower accessible camping area there is a dedicated car park right next to the area. We also have a second area at the top of the site next to accessible Glamping. This area will have accessible toilets but no dedicated accessible shower – there is a single (cold) shower available by the sauna, but please note that this is out in the open. There is no electricity in this area. For the upper area, depending on ground conditions, you may be able to bring your vehicle right onto the site to unload and then return your vehicle to the car park for the duration of the event. If this is not possible we will have people available to help you transport your items. Accessible live-ins: This area is next to the venue road and by the lower accessible camping area. Here you will have close access to accessible toilets and showers. We will have a charging point for mobility aid batteries in the production office caravan. It would really help with our power planning if you could contact us to let us know of any specific requirements you may have. Please be aware that laser, strobe and other lighting effects may be in use at times in the performance tent, however this will always be clearly indicated and publicised. To illuminate the interior of main structures and also on site after dark, we use LED based lighting that operates under UK mains frequency of 50Hz. We offer a free PA/Carer pass if someone is unable to attend the festival without the support from a PA/Carer. To book a free Carer pass, please book your ticket, then email We will have a small team of volunteers dedicated to helping people access the festival – especially those without a PA/Carer present. If there is something specific you may want help with from this team, please let us know. Live-Ins: We will have a dedicated space right next to the accessible camping area for live-in vehicles. Car parking: We have a dedicated accessible car park by the lower accessible camping area. We are working to make the event as accessible as we can. Please
